Edifício setecentista construído a partir de estruturas habitacionais pertencentes à família de Pedro Álvares Cabral. No final do século XX o Município de Santarém adquiriu o imóvel tornando-o num espaço-memória da relação de Santarém com os Descobrimentos e, particularmente, com o Brasil, constituindo-se desde então como um importante polo de difusão cultural da cidade.

BRASIL HOUSE / PEDRO ÁLVARES CABRAL

Considered the final resting place of our discoverer Pedro Alvares Cabral, this space was inaugurated on April 22, 2000, exactly 500 years after their arrival in Brazil. Has two temporary exhibition areas, and a permanent exhibition center (throughout the building) arising from donations made by artists who present their works there. Casa do Brazil also has a multipurpose auditorium with a capacity of 80 seats, a bar / terrace, a garden and terraces for cultural activities, through regular cultural programming and multidisciplinary.
